About the City of Colleyville
Colleyville is a Texas community located in the Mid-Cities suburban area between Dallas and Ft. Worth. Named for a prominent physician and Civil War veteran who settled in the area during the late 1800s, Colleyville has a current population of about 25,000. It is renowned for maintaining a remarkable rural atmosphere—no small feat, considering its location near the urban sprawl of DFW.
Tourists and residents of Colleyville alike can experience the nostalgia of the American west by riding the Grapevine Vintage Railroad, a heritage public transportation system which conveys travellers from Mainstreet Station in nearby Grapevine to the Ft. Worth Stockyards, and back again, all on beautifully maintained vintage locomotives.
The city is home to eleven elementary schools, four middle schools, and two high schools, as well as eleven award-winning parks and greenbelts with full service recreational facilities. The high median income of the area, and its reputation for excellent public education, safety, and transportation, make Colleyville an alluring destination to people from all walks of life. The town has produced, or been home to, internationally known entertainers like Demi Lovato and Bryce Avary, as well as pro-sports luminaries like Chad Campbell, PGA tour pro, and Christian Ponder, NFL quarterback.
