Garage Floor Resurfacing in Dallas-Fort Worth

If your garage floor is cracked, spalled, or pitted, you don’t have to live with it. And you don’t have to tear it out either. Garage floor resurfacing is the professional solution for concrete that’s too far gone for a standard coating, but still structurally sound enough to save.

At Artisan Garage Floors, we’ve been resurfacing and coating garage floors throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area for more than 15 years. We’re a family-owned company based in Grapevine, TX, and every resurfacing job is handled start to finish by our own in-house Artisans. No subcontractors. No shortcuts.

What Is Garage Floor Resurfacing?

Garage floor resurfacing is a multi-step process that restores a damaged concrete floor to a smooth, solid, coatable surface and then protects it with a durable epoxy or polyaspartic finish.

It’s the right solution when:

  • Your concrete has surface spalling, pitting, or widespread deterioration
  • You have cracks or damage that a standard epoxy coat alone won’t fix
  • You want a finished, protected floor but don’t want the cost and disruption of full slab replacement

Resurfacing rebuilds the surface before any coating goes down, giving you a fresh foundation that looks great and lasts.

How It Works: Our Resurfacing Process

Step 1: Diamond Grinding

We begin by mechanically grinding the entire floor. This removes surface damage, opens up the concrete, and creates the bonding profile every layer depends on. It's what separates a coating that lasts from one that peels.

Step 2: Crack and Damage Repair

We fill and repair cracks, chips, and structural imperfections before anything else is applied. The goal is a stable, uniform surface from edge to edge.

Step 3: Cementitious Overlay

A professional-grade overlay is applied to resurface the floor, filling in spalling and surface voids to create a smooth, consistent base. This is what sets resurfacing apart from a standard epoxy install. We're rebuilding the surface, not just covering it.

Step 4: Epoxy Base Coat

A 100% solids epoxy base coat bonds directly to the resurfaced concrete, creating a thick, durable foundation that chemically fuses to the surface below.

Step 5: Decorative Flake Broadcast

Decorative flake is broadcast into the wet epoxy, adding texture, visual depth, and anti-skid performance. Available in a range of colors and styles.

Step 6: Polyaspartic Urethane Clear Coat

The final coat seals everything in with a UV-stable polyaspartic urethane that resists chemicals, abrasion, and daily wear while delivering a clean, high-gloss finish.

Our Resurfacing Systems

We offer garage floor resurfacing with two coating systems, so you can match the right level of protection to your floor and your budget.

Classic System — Best Value

Our most popular option. After resurfacing, we apply a 100% solids epoxy base coat, decorative flake, and a polyaspartic urethane clear coat. UV-stable, chemical-resistant, and backed by our Limited Lifetime Warranty*. The best performance-to-value option for most homeowners.

Quartz System — Maximum Durability

Includes everything in the Classic system, plus a decorative quartz layer. The extra layer adds thickness, grip, and impact resistance. It’s a good choice for busy garages, workshops, and other areas that get daily traffic or moisture.

Econo System — Professional Quality at a Lower Price

The Econo system gives you professional materials and installation at a lower cost. It uses a polyaspartic/polyurea base coat with a light decorative flake finish. It also includes a 2-Year Craftsmanship Warranty.*

Garage Floor Resurfacing vs Replacement

Full slab replacement is expensive, disruptive, and often unnecessary. If your concrete is structurally intact but rough, pitted, or deteriorated on the surface, resurfacing delivers a like-new result at a fraction of the cost.

With professional resurfacing and a quality coating system, you get:

  • A floor that looks brand new. No signs of the damage underneath.
  • A surface built to last. Backed by our Limited Lifetime Warranty on qualifying systems.
  • Faster turnaround. Most jobs done in 1–2 days.
  • Better value. Significantly less expensive than demo and replacement.
  • No compromise on quality. The same industrial-grade materials we use on every installation.

Frequently Asked Questions About Garage Floor Resurfacing

Is my floor a good candidate for resurfacing?

Most garage floors with surface spalling, pitting, or widespread wear are good candidates, as long as the slab is structurally sound. We’ll evaluate your concrete before any work begins and let you know exactly what we recommend.

What’s the difference between resurfacing and standard epoxy installation?

A standard epoxy installation bonds a coating directly to your existing concrete. Resurfacing adds a step before that: we apply a cementitious overlay to rebuild the surface first. This is the right approach when the concrete is too damaged for a coating to bond to reliably.

How long does a resurfaced garage floor last?

With proper preparation and quality materials, a resurfaced floor with our Classic or Quartz coating system is built to last a lifetime. Both are backed by our Limited Lifetime Warranty.*

How much does garage floor resurfacing cost in Dallas-Fort Worth?

Pricing depends on the size of your garage, the extent of the damage, and the system you choose. Contact us for a free estimate. In many cases, we can get you a number by email within the hour.

How long does the project take?

Most resurfacing jobs are complete in 1–2 days. You’ll need to stay off the floor for 24–48 hours after the final coat to allow for full curing.
